70% polar bear, 30% mask

Last Friday, August 12th, in the Tarragon Near Studio we helped plan and participate in a workshop by exciting theatre practitioner Nicole Ratjen. The show is called Polar Opposites, about two polar bears stranded on an ever-shrinking ice floe. The workshop explored human/polar bear embodiment, and the influence of mask on this relationship. This is Nicole’s first foray into playwriting as well as her first piece of theatre in Toronto in over three-years (she’s been off performing and jaunting about Berlin and Paris in the interim)!

We’ll keep you posted about development of this piece as it goes, but for now feel free to follow her over at tilthaus.com. This one’s going to be fun!
